From Haiti and the Dominican Republic to Niger, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania and the DRC, across Mali and Ghana, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Sri Lanka and India, Brazil to the US, and the many other places I've worked and lived, I am seeking the creation of meaning, the act of community healing, the promotion of wellness and the manifestation of compassion. May we transform and heal together in all corners of the Earth.

Beyond the Mountains...
I find myself often thinking of the Haitian Proverb, "Dèyè mon gen mon," or "Beyond the mountain, more mountains." There are many ways to understand this proverb. For me it is about "the long haul." It is about developing endurance, but also about celebrating along the way, enjoying rest sometimes under a tree, stopping to drink water from the stream, deepening relationships with those who are climbing that mountain alongside me, feeling jubilant when reaching a pinnacle or peak, yet also knowing, always, we are not yet finished. There will be more mountains to climb. We must be prepared for the long haul.
